About Yoga Treasures

When I started this project, I was a young architect. I was very apprehensive about any changes to the design. Whether I wanted to or not, I learned that you can accept some changes to its form without compromising its intent. But it's a leap of faith that I didn't want to make initially - to put it mildly.

Chakra-Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation

Chakra Yoga

Your one week retreat is dedicated to the chakra’s. Every day you will experience, feel and understand a chrakra. The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. Chakra’s are nodes of energy. There are seven main chakras/energy points - which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head - between which the life energy (prana) is exchanged effortlessly. Each chakra transforms this energy to specific qualities, such as grounding, security, trust, flow, power, taking care and compassion.  Chakra yoga is a detailed way to get to know yourself, recognizing the conditionings and release them so that your energy can flow.

Pranayama

Yoga postures remove energy blocks and let the energy flow again. To boost and balance this flow we use different pranayama techniques like nadi shodanam, kapalabati and bastrika.

Pranayama techniques provide the method whereby the life force can be activated and regulated in order to go beyond one’s normal boundaries or limitations and attain a higher state of vibratory energy. Prana means vital energy or life force, the force which exists in all things. Ayama means extension or expansion. Thus the word pranayama means extension of the dimension of prana. The air we breathe is the carrier of prana. Pranayama utilises breathing to influence the flow of prana in the energy channels (nadis)of the energy body (pranayama kosha).
